8th Grade Project Paper Plan! (Due Friday, April 13th)

You have all been working on projects related to issues you care about.  In English, you are going to write a persuasive paper or letter related to your topic.  For example, if you're constructing an atlatl, you may choose to write about why atlatls should be used in hunting.  If you're drawing up plans for a Field School campus, you may want to write a fundraising letter touting the benefits of the new design.  If you're investigating the prison system, you could write a paper regarding inmates' writes.

For this post, I want you to write a brief summary of your topic and identify questions you will need to answer through research!

  1. My topic is on the AT. Short for The Appalachian Trial. Questions I must answer are; why was the AT trail made? What laws are on the trail(what are you allowed to do and what aren't you allowed to do?)Can I bring my dogs? will they run away after animals? Are the animals friendly?

  2. My project is on my knee injury. The facts that I need to find are, how many people have the same condition; is it rare or common; what is the treatment for it and how long does it take to heal. And the types of surguries they have to do to help.
Those are some of the ideas I will put in my lecture

  3. My project is on original Clay Pottery. I need to find out who were the first people to use it. When Clay Pottery was first tried. Where the first place that clay pots were made is. I also need to find out what the most common piece of art that is made is. I will also need to interview someone that works at City Clay, where I am learning to pot clay once a week. I hope to spread more awareness to past methods of creating pieces of art. -Lindsay Bonner

  4. My project is about what it is like to be in jail. I will be donating books to the prisoners by using a program called Books Behind Bars. The answers I need to find are most criminals repeat offenders? How long is the average jail sentence? How much time do prisoners get to be free to move around or go outside. These are all questions that i need to find out if I want to know what it's like to be a prisoner. -Jacob Gavin
