Favorite Book of the School Year (Due Friday, April 27th!)
What's your favorite book that you have read this year, inside or outside of the classroom? Why did you like it? What other sorts of readers do you think would enjoy the book? Remember, your post should be at least 5-7 sentences!
My favorite book is the hunger games. I had read the hunger games last year and decided to re-read it in the trip to costa rica. What I like about it is the characters and how each has such a clear characteristic that they carry throughout the book. I feel like suzanne Collins wrote an amazing book and hope she will come out with others- mckellar
My favorite book, would have to be American Phsyco. The book is extremely well written, and carries the message that ones sanity is in place to cover up, or disguise ones insanity, and that we are all selfless, vein full , with no remorse for each other. Bret Easton Ellises books are always a good read, but are normally on the more mature side. I would recommend American Phsyco for any body who likes gritty books about people's day to day activities.
My favorite book that I have read this year is probably nothing but the truth. I like this book because it shows the incompetence of teenagers, and what a little lie can do to you. I also liked making the video for the book. I didn't like being the girl though. I thought the last part was funny when he admits that he doesn't know the lyrics to the National Anthem
My favorite book is Ball Four by Jim Bouton. As it's name suggests it is about baseball. It is not like most baseball books that are dull and boring, no this book is exciting. This book is the journal of Jim Bouton, so this book is kind of like Youth in Revolt except non-fiction. I also like this book because it is very funny. Jim Bouton tells you everything that goes on, like beaver shooting ,and the stuff they do in the locker room. In the introduction they say, this book is not PG, in fact if anything it should be rated X. The only thing we leave out is the repetition. I think this book would be good for anybody that can watch a Will Ferrel kind of movie. You also don't have to be a baseball fan although knowing the basic terms might help. I started to read this book over spring break and finished it a day after so it is a quick read.
The best book I have read this year is probably A Sense Of Where You Are by John Mcphee. It is about Bill Bradley who went to Princeton. He was easily one of the best college basketball players of all time. This book mostly talks about his junior and senior years at Princeton. This book is very interesting and exciting.I would recommend this book to anyone who is a sports fan and is up for a good and quick read.
