If you were the protagonist... (Due Friday, January 20th)

The protagonist is the main character who must solve or attempt to solve the story's major conflict. If you were the protagonist in your novel, what choice would you have made?

If you were Katniss in The Hunger Games, would you have taken Prim's place?  If you were going into the arena, what would your strategy be? What skills would you be able to use?  Remember to write a well-developed paragraph with at least 5 sentences, including a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence.

If you were Thomas in The Maze Runner, what job would you want within the Glade? Would you want to be a runner?  Why or why not?  Remember to write a well-developed paragraph with at least 5 sentences, including a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence.

If you were Tris in Divergent, which faction would you have chosen?  Do you feel that you possess characteristics similar to Abnegation, Dauntless, Candor, Amity, or Erudite?  Why do you feel you fit best within that faction? Remember to write a well-developed paragraph with at least 5 sentences, including a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence.

  1. If I were in the Hunger Games I would feel guilty if I didn't take Prim's place so yes I would have. The skills that I would focus on is survival and camouflage. I would definitely focus on fighting skills but if I hide well enough and learn to survive out there hopefully I would not have to fight as much. i would want to hide as much as possible. I would wait for people to kill each other and then towards the end start to fight more. I would try to fight as little as possible so my risk of dying is much lower.

  2. I would not have gone into the maze to save Mihno and Alby but, still would have been a Maze Runner. The thought of running around in the daytime, is much less scary than the thought of running around at night, when the Grievers come out. I would also be a Runner because I would want to help find a way out of the maze so I could go home, (since I would not remember anything about the real world). If I could not have been a Runner I would have been a Med-Jack. -Lindsay Bonner

  3. If I were in the Maze Runner I would want to be an runner. I would want top be a runner because the life there seems so dull. The only other job I would want would be the cook. I might not want to be a runner at first but as the desperation set in I would be more than happy to be an runner. The Greivers seem to only come out at night so I would seems safe in the maze. Those are the reasons that I would want to be a runner.

  4. If I were in the Glade I would want my job to be most time consuming so I wouldn't be depressed or sad. I would want to be the cook. I would be very busy cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I could put my own style in it as well. I would want a little less hair than fry pan although a mustache would be awesome. the reason i don't want to be a runner which seems to be the job a lot of people want, is because you are so focused on finding your way out of the maze and save all the Gladers. I don't think I could take on that responsibility. It also makes you thinkof home. you also run all day. Ya. maybe i should lay off the doughnuts first. I think being a cook would serve me well.-Mckellar Cox

  5. At the choosing ceremony I would have took the knife and taken someone hostage. After I received my demands in trade for the hostage I would bring up the faction less and create an army. After my soldiers and I are trained and equipped, we would rise a rebellion and take down the system. Once we won the war the faction less and everybody will make me there leader. So as you can see I would a LOT of changing.

  6. If I were Katniss, i would volunteer to take Prim's place, I would create an alliance with Thresh, Foxface, Cato or Rue and I would hide away until there are only five or six left. Then I would go after the weakest of the last remaners, and I would shoot them. I would then find my camp again and hide until there is only three left, my teammate, the enemy and I. I would go after them, and kill them. Then I would be victorious!
